DIY Home Weights

Today for Workout Wednesday I thought I would do a DIY that can help all of you amp up your home workouts. In fact one of the biggest complaints people have about working out at home, is not have the proper equipment, well excuse no more, today we are making 1 & 2 pound weights that are so cheap and easy to make and yet you will feel the difference in your workout.

For this you will need 2 plastic bottles, I went with Gatorade bottles because they have more contouring than normal plastic bottles, which means more places to grip with your fingers.

Then you need to fill it up with either sand or water, the sand will make it heavier and you don't have to worry about water leaking out, but water is more readily available.

Then seal your lid with hot glue, you can add more embellishments if you like, but I thought sweet and simple would be better, and your ready to workout!

Anna Saccone Drugstore Look

Recently Anna Saccone uploaded her everyday makeup routine, I already owned the Stila Soul Palette so immediately recreated the look. Then when I went to comment on her video I noticed people saying they would love to see a drugstore version, so I thought I would recreate her eye look using only drugstore products. In the beginning it was really difficult to find a palette in the drugstore that had all the colors she used from the Stila palette, and I wanted to keep this as cheap as possible, so rather than buying 4 single shadows at $3 a piece, I went for the Wet N Wild palette that was only $7.

To recreate her eye look I used:

Start off by using the first 2 colors and adding then to the inner corner, center of your lid, and brow bone area. Then using color number 7 blend that from the center of your lid out and up to your crease, then dust the 5th color through your crease, add a bit of the 7th color under your lower lashes.
Create your winged liner using the Milani Eye Tech Perfection Liquid Liner, go as big or little as you want on this, if you struggle with winged liner stabilize your elbow on something or use a piece of tape.
Then use the white liner, (as a side note, I really hated the elf liner, but my local store didn't carry white liner, I really recommend looking for a better one), on your bottom water line from inner corner to the middle, tight line with the L' Oreal Voluminous Liner, and then apply from outer corner to middle on your bottom water line.
Finally coat your lashes with lots and lots of mascara, the Maybelline the falsies is nice for this as it gives volume and length just like the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara that Anna used.

And now finish off with your favorite nude lip and your ready to go!

I thought I would finish this post with a little selfie shot, as Anna always makes time for her classic Instagram Selfie!

I really enjoyed recreating this look, it forced me to spend a lot of time in my local drugstore, which means I now know the beauty counter clerk on a first name basis lol.
If you guys have any other youtuber or celebrity looks you would like me to "dupe" leave their name and a link to a specific picture that you would like recreated.

My Meals Monday

Today I started my day off with my usual coffee and water. I also had my usual oatmeal, but I did change it up a bit, I used my normal almond milk, raisins, and banana, but whilst it was cooking I added in a dash of cinnamon because my doctor recently was telling me of the health benefits to cinnamon. I am not actually a big fan of cinnamon so was a bit worried I was ruining my otherwise good oatmeal, but I was so shocked how much flavor it really adds. This is going to become my new "normal".

Then for lunch I had a seafood Won Ton Min, I am obsessed with Pho and Ramen at the moment so I have been eating a lot of dishes like this one, but this is hands down my favorite, it has so much flavor, and you would never guess theres no meat!

For dinner I made a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato basil soup, it has been so cool and windy here that this was not only really warming but so comforting as well.
I also had a nice cup of TeaPigs Peppermint and Licorice tea, which is literally the greatest tea ever!!

What did you eat today?

Yoga OOTD

I have finally gotten my SHIZ together and am blogging, and filming, and actually going to the gym again!! The only downside of this is my body is sore as you know what, I literally feel like I've been hit by a car, and no I am not being dramatic lol. Anytime someone takes a break from working out and then jumps back in at the same level they were when they stopped, they will be suffering, so I have decided to go do a Hot Yoga class at CorePower today to try and loosen my body up, relax my muscles, and relive all the tension I've been holding since my life got hectic.

Today I am wearing the Pink top that I got from Ross and shown in my Fitness Haul Video, and then my Victoria Secret Pink Ultimate Yoga Leggings, that were also featured in my Fitness Haul Video. I am so glad I decided to set myself up with a whole new fitness gear wardrobe, not only was I in need as all my other stuff was starting to get really worn and I had a few pieces that actually had holes in them, but I have found feeling good about your outfit can really help motivate you in the gym, and these leggings are so soft and comfy and the top is to die for, I am going back to Ross tomorrow to see if they have any other colors lol.

Ok I am off to yoga now, but before I go, what do you do to get yourself motivated for the gym?

Invisalign First Impression & Tips

From the picture above you can't tell that I am wearing Invisalign, however I quickly learned just because a stranger on the street doesn't know they are there, doesn't mean you don't.
I have learned so much in the last 3 weeks of having my Invisalign and I thought I would take a few minutes to share my thoughts and tips with any of you who are considering getting them.

The first thing I learned is that you will always be aware of the fact that you have your Invisalign in, you never quite get used to having this plastic tray covering your teeth, although after a while it does become part of daily life and so it will get easier.

Second, the lisp will fade, but the lipstick issues will never end, anytime you wear lipstick make sure you "suck your thumb" for lack of a better phrase, and keep a tissue on hand to remove any that gets on your Invisalign, I am preparing to experiment with the NYX matte glosses to see if those transfer...I will let you know. Also with the lisp it will fade by about week 2, but if you have long stretches of conversation as your mouth gets tired, it will start to creep back in. As for your mouth getting tired, it will happen faster than normal, it almost feels like when you have a piece of gum in your mouth and you have chewed it beyond it's chewiness and it is now that hard rock feel to it, thats your Invisalign...enjoy lol.

Third, say goodbye to straws and glasses and get yourself a small opening water bottle, this was the first thing I noticed right away so I had to switch to store bought water bottles (I went with smart water because it was that or Fiji and the Fiji water bottles are not able to fit in my cupholders in my car or at the gym). I did however find a reusable water bottle that I am quite happy with. Also you will be more thirsty than normal as your mouth is constantly salivating from something being in there.

Fourth, prepare for a few mouth blisters, I had blisters along the side of my tongue and on my gum line, I also had a big cut on the inside of my lip from wear the plastic was rubbing, I can say it was just like breaking in a new pair of shoes, once your mouth gets used to it you will be fine. Having said that have a nail file on hand, there are sometimes sharp edges to the plastic and using a nail file will smooth them out, and help avoid future cuts to your mouth.

Fifth, build an on the go dental hygiene kit and keep it in your handbag, it should include a toothbrush, floss, and pick (or by the floss pick combo like I did), also have a medicated chapstick as well, your lips can become quite dry as the trays push your lips out, creating "duck lips" which really dries them out. Also your Invisalign will come with 2 retainer cases, carry one in your handbag so that you can place them in there whilst eating out. NEVER leave them on the table or place them in a napkin, you may be trying to be discreet, but most waitstaff will see it as rubbish and throw it away. If that happens call your dentist right away so they can order you new trays and start wearing your old ones.

Thats pretty much everything I can think of, I know it sounds a bit daunting but I wish I would have known all of this going in, as I was caught off guard my first two weeks, I thought I would put them in and go about my day as normal, sadly it is quite an impact on your day to day life, but I know in the end it will be 100% worth it.

If you have any questions leave them below and I will answer them.

February's Monthly Fitness Test

As you guys know, I decided this year I would start tracking my actual fitness abilities every month, I created my own little fitness test that consisted of Jumping Rope, Burpees, Pushups, and planking. After uploading that video I saw Lucy Wyndham-Read was doing her #Lucys100adaychallenge which consisted of doing 100 high knees per day, so I have since added that in.

Over all I feel like doing this little bit of fitness daily has helped, now there are some days I really didn't feel like completing it, but I did it anyways, I started off doing high knees as just marching, now I can get almost 1/2 way through before I need to which to the marching again. The jumping rope is so much harder than it was when I was 10, but I can see why so many people including Kate Hudson find it important to do daily, though getting up to Kate's 3 minutes a day will be difficult.
All in all I feel I have some what improved, and I am so excited to see where I am in March, although it feels a little crazy to be thinking about March already lol.

My Meals Monday & Monthly Giveaway

Since today is the first of the Month this post/video has the February Giveaway in it!!! I realize I didn't upload a video for January's because I took some time off, but don't fret I did pull a winner and contact her and send her the Erin Condren planner, she has received it and is quite happy with it.
So this months winner is receiving this Estee Lauder Soft Naturals Palette, it's perfect for on the go, as it is in a clutch type case so you can toss it in your handbag and head out the door, the winner of this palette is "SLC12892" I will contact you through the youtube messaging center for your shipping address.
Now onto My Meals Monday....

For breakfast I had coffee, with a liter of water, and stovetop oatmeal with blueberries. If you are an oatmeal addict like I am, I would recommend making it from scratch rather than the instant, it is so much healthier as well as it tastes 1000 times better.

For lunch we splurged on vegetarian tacos and burritos, I can honestly say my eyes were much bigger than my stomach, I had a vegetarian taco with black beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole in a soft corn tortilla. I also had a vegetarian burrito with rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole in a flour tortilla. It was far to much food for me, so after the taco and about 1/2 the burrito Don took over and finished it for me :)

Because I was still kinda full from lunch but felt a bit snacks, around 8:30 pm I had a small sliced apple with 100% pure peanut butter, a chocolate Attain shake, (its supposed to be a meal replacement shake but I always think of it as dessert because it reminds me of a Chocolate Milkshake lol), and I also had my nightly peppermint and licorice tea from TeaPigs. Since I got my Invisalign I am having to have my tea with dinner because it is so much trouble taking them in and out and brush and flossing, doing it just for a cup of tea hardly seems worth it.

That is everything I had today, here is today's Main Channel Video and Daily Vlog.

Also recently it was pointed out to me that I never include what makeup I am wearing in my videos and blog pictures so I am going to try and make a point to do that at the end of each blog post, so here goes...
What I'm Wearing In This Video:
