My Meals Monday | Not Very Healthy

Breakfast:
Today was fathers day and while I don't have a father to celebrate, and we don't have children, we do have our dogs that we treat like children lol, so we ordered this amaizing breakfast that the dogs were quite happy to partake in haha.
I got the traditional eggs benedict with fried rice (we pretty much serve rice with everything here, you can even order it at McDonalds). I also had my usual coffee.

Snack:
I had such a huge breakfast I couldn't imagine eating anything else but I did want a coffee, but with how hot it was I had to chuck some ice in.

Lunch:
This was actually last nights dinner, and I just realized every meal I ate today was takeout omg how did that happen? This is a steak with potatoes and arugula from California Pizza Kitchen.

Dinner:
I ordered a burger and fries from Chilies. To be fair I have spent the past week super orginzing my house and pulling out all the crap I want to get rid of in our annual building yard sale, which means by the end of the day, I really don't feel like cooking.

Dessert:
I order the Berry Strudel as dessert, but it was very disappointing, I was picturing more like a cobbler type thing, and this was butter cake with smoothie poured over and a few berries. It was still good, just not at all what I was expecting.

And that is everything I ate today, what did you eat?

Throwback Thursday: Laura's Graduation

Today wee are throwing it back to 7 years ago, almost to the day. This picture was taken on June 13, 2010! This was my little sister Laura's High School Graduation. I always joke that this picture looks like it's done in order of height, but my sister Laura is actually slightly taller than I am she is just randomly bending her knees here lol.

This was during my dark hair and bangs phase that I mentioned in my hair story, I actually loved this look, and it was the most consistent hairstyle I've ever had. This is also back in my super workout days, that I'm desperately trying to get back into hahaha.

I was living near Redding California at the time, and my family had moved back from Costa Rica near Palm Springs California, so I was really excited to fly down and spend some time with them. This was also the first time that we had all the kids together for a long time as our other brother and drove down from Sacramento.

I thought it was funny that this picture popped up in my time hop because it doesn't seem that long ago, but now Laura has two kids, and is about to be married! As a kid I hated when people would say "enjoy cause the years just fly by" but now as I'm a bit older :) I 100% see what they were talking about.

My 5 Minutes Brow Routine | How I Fill In My Brows

In my not so humble opinion, brows are everything! Your makeup can be flawless, your liner on fleek, and with perfectly plump glossed lips, but if your brows aren't filled in, or groomed, or all together looking amazing, it destroys any makeup look.
Having said that I know the average woman doesn't have 30 minutes to spend filling in and concealing her brows, hell the average woman is lucky to have 30 minutes to do her whole face, so I thought I would share my "Normal" brows look. Also when I say "Normal" I mean for people who aren't instagram goddesses, or youtube guru's, just regular people like me, who want to look halfway presentable when they go out.

If you are one of those amazingly lucky people, or someone who didn't obliterate your brows in the 90's, and you have really full lovely brows, you can use the Anastasia Brow Gel on it's own and get a really lovely shaped brow.
If however you're like me, and have almost no brows on your face continue reading lol.

The first thing you want to do is create your depth of field for applying your brows. That sounds super fancy and serious, it isn't lol, you need a mirror (like your average bathroom mirror) thats a few feet away from you, and then a small mirror you can hold a few inches from your face. As you fill in your brows using your small handheld mirror, stop every so often and glance in your bigger mirror, this will allow you to see any spots that need to be a little darker, as well as spots you may have made too dark.

Use the spoolie on the end of the brow pencil and groom your brows in an upwards direction, just after your arch brush them down to create and even thin tail.

Then starting from the inner corner of your brow softly create a line going from the inner corner to the arch of your brow, then go down creating your tail. Once you have this line, it will act as your guide for filling in the rest of your brow.

Once you're satisfied with your brows use the Brow Gel with a very soft touch and brush/dab onto your brow hairs. This allows you to create that well groomed brow and will stay in place all day.

This is the video for this post, it may be easier to watch rather than my very poor written explanation lol. It may take a few tries but soon you'll have your brow routine down to 5 minutes or less!

My First Time In Panama

One August day, Don and I had just left the movies and decided to go to Walmart, when Don asked "do you want to go to Panama tomorrow?" I was shocked, we had been talking about going for a few months but to take a trip out of the country with no notice, that was a bit too much for this list loving, super organized girl.
I went home a booked our trip for two days later, I needed to make sure I had enough time to pack anything and everything I would need, as well as get a spray tan, cause I was looking quite pale lol.

When I booked our hotel I opted for the financial district as everyone online had said that was the place to stay. Because we were going in the middle of Summer and with only two days notice we didn't end up with much a view from our room, but I was still so excited to be there, as this was my first trip out of the country.

We spent the first two days wondering around Panama City, and found the cutest hole in the wall restaurant that served the most amazing seafood soup and garlic bread, all for $3 a person! Nothing however could have prepared me for the traffic in this city. I like to consider myself and extremely confident driver, but I was so glad we opted NOT to rent a car, as the drivers seemed to be making up their own rules on the road, and everyone and I mean everyone was honking for what seemed to be no other reason than everyone else was doing it.

The hotel we were staying at had a sister hotel in a town called Coronado about an hours drive up the coast, I was really excited to go as there were no real beaches near by.

This little town of Coronado stole my heart. People were driving around in golf carts, kids were playing in the street, everyone was so friendly, and it had a pool on the beach, it doesn't get better than that. It was however so hot and humid, a humidity I have never felt living in Hawaii, Alabama or Louisiana, it was so humid you almost felt like you couldn't breathe so the pool was a godsend.

The beaches have a lot of ore in the sand which gives them the black/grey look, but the water was cool, and shallow, so I didn't have to worry about riptides, which is a problem in the area.
Whilst there the locals told us about the place called Bocas Del Toro, and that was supposedly the it place to go. We would have to book a flight as it was an island on the atlantic side of the country, but we decided to live it up whilst we were there.

We flew into Bocas Del Toro the next afternoon, it was beautiful, they had white sandy beaches, an amazing wooden dock stretching out to all the gorgeous boats in the harbor, and everyone there was so nice.
It is worth mentioning that up until this point I had been so careful as to what I ate and drank as we Americans tend to have weak stomaches, I walked to the dock restaurant and did the unthinkable, and I cannot even tell you what I was thinking, I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, and a Chicken Salad. It's like an unwritten rule that if your worried about getting sick on vacation, you don't eat the salad, and I just tossed that right out the window. Within about 8-12 hours I was so incredibly ill, I curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor and stayed there until our flight. I kept telling myself If I could just make it back to the main hotel, I could see a doctor and everything would be fine.
We asked for a late checkout, which they refused to give us as they wanted to clean the room, we then tried to get an earlier flight, which we couldn't and so I curled up onto my suitcase in the airport bathroom for three hours waiting for our flight. When we finally landed (it was only a 45 minute flight) back in Panama City I honestly thought I was dying, I was so weak and dehydrated Don had to carry me to the Taxi, and from there to the hotel, and I then spent the last 3 days of our trip on the floor of the bathroom. We tried to get a doctor, but because I couldn't actually go anywhere, and the hotel didn't have one they contracted with, I called my mom instead.
At $3 a minute she explained to Don everything I would need and we were luckily in a country where you can just ask the Pharmacist and they give it to you, no prescription needed.
After I got back home I did see a doctor, where I was placed on antibiotics, as well as given an IV for fluids.
While you may be thinking this is a horror story and I probably never wanted to go back, you would be wrong. While it was a terrible end to our otherwise amazing vacation, I did want to go back, and we did go back to Coronado. Which I will share with you all next Tuesday!
Until then  I would love to know where you have traveled to, anywhere outside your home country?
Did you encounter a bit of a horror story yourself?

My Meals Monday | Fitness Update

Today I wanted to quickly do a fitness update before jumping into what I ate.
As you guys know I started the Kayla Itsines program which I whole heartedly love and recommend to anyone who wants to get fit, without health issues or injuries. I however have tendinitis in both knees, something I have had for the past ten years, I have managed it well over the years by avoiding certain types of exercises, like lunges. In Kayla's guide there are a ton of Lunges, I tried supplementing them, but there were days were over half the exercises were lunge based, so after my knees started really hurting I decided to seek the help of a trainer.
The original idea was that I would have her create a guide for me that I could alternate with, but we ended up really clicking and I am loving having someone to workout with, so I am now working out with her 4 days a week, doing spin 7 days a week, and I am now incorporating either Yoga and Pilates 7 days a week. Right now it's Yoga as I need the stretching. So thats is where I'm at right now, I am very happy with the progress being made, and can't wait to start up the Stat Saturday posts this week.

Breakfast:

This morning I started off with my usual coffee which is the Nespresso Vuvalto Lung, orange juice with my Vida Glow, Beauty Blend, and Super Elixir Greens. I also had a large bottle of water and oatmeal with 1/2 a banana.

Am Snack:

After the gym I was hungry so I had 1/4 a cup of roasted almonds and an Americano.

Lunch:

This is the Chili's Buffalo Chicken Salad, if you haven't tried it get out there and try it lol. It's so good, I actually dream about this salad. Lucky for me BiteSquad now delivers so I ordered mine minus the bleu cheese, and it was simply amazing.

Pm Snack:

For my afternoon snack I had a bowl of baby carrots, I know super exciting right :) I actually really enjoyed. As my food goal this week is to focus on eating consistently and healthy I felt it was a good choice.

Dinner:

I wasn't super hungry at dinner time, so I made a protein shake using 1 banana, mandarin fruit medley, protein powder, vida glow, beauty blend, super elixir greens, and almond milk.

That is everything I had today. You can watch the video for this post here, and don't forget to tell me what you ate today.

May 2017 Favorites

I honestly cannot believe that 2017 is half-way over, how did that even happen?
However I am excited to share my May favorites with you guys, as I tried out some pretty cool stuff this month.

First we have the MoroccanOil Styling Gel.
I use about a dime size amount just before blowdrying and it helps tame the frizz, as well as add some much needed texture to my hair, without being drying.

I use the Revlon Professional Uniq One Coconut Hair Treatment right after washing my hair. this helps detangle it, as well as provides heat protectant for when I blow-dry and straighten.

The Dove Dry Shampoo has been a ride or die product for me for years now, and it still is. I love that this gives my hair a fresh voluminous look without being too dry. (it's not in the picture as I forgot it had rolled off the bed, sorry!)

Catwalk Fashionista Shampoo is a very pigmented violet shampoo that can be used as an at home toner as well. The sent is amazing as well.

The Catwalk Your Highness conditioner is a heavy enough conditioner to really hydrate your hair, without being so heavy that your hair feels greasy.

The Elizabeth Arden Eight hour Cream Skin Protectant is amazing on chapped lips and sunburned noses, the website says you can use it on dry rough skin like your elbows, I don't care for the heavy feeling there but it may be fine for you.

The L'Occitane Shower Oil is incredible! I love the scent and the way it feels on my skin. It doesn't lather a lot but I don't mind. It's perfect for shaving as well.

I have always loved the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner, but I purchased in brown because I wanted to create softer looks and this did not disappoint.

As I mentioned I wanted slightly softer looks and so I also added the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Brown and it looks so great. Adds that bit of dimension I'm looking for, without looking too harsh for the daytime.

Because I went blonde in May I wanted a darker brow pencil, as blonde hair can sometimes wash you out, and darker brows pulls your face forward again. I went with the Benefit Precisely, My brow Pencil, and I love it. It has amazing staying power through the day, but goes on so soft and smooth.

Finally this month I have been loving the ColourPop Lippie Stix Set in Lumiere, as well as the lip primer. They primer works wonders, the lip pencil is really soft and goes on smooth and the Lippie Stix is matte but not dry.

That is everything I have been loving in the month of May, you can watch the video for this post here, it includes the winners of the 10K giveaway.
I would love to know what your favorites were in the month of May.

Affordable Summer OOTD

There is nothing like Summer. Everything in life feels happier, more upbeat, more positive. And there is nothing like finding that perfect summer outfit for a reasonable price.

I decided to take the pictures for this OOTD post by the ocean because it looked especially pretty and clear today.

I love coiled hair ties as they don't put the inevitable crimp in your hair, and cheap sunglasses because I lose mine on the regular lol.

I'm off to enjoy the Summer heat and sun for the day, but I would love to know what your go to summer outfit is in the comments below.

June 5, 2017

Today I started off my morning with coffee and panda pops, I also watched the One Love Manchester concert whilst having this, and I just want to say it was so emotional and beautiful, and sad, and amazing all wrapped into one.

For lunch I had a tomato and mozzarella panini from Starbucks with my all time favorite Black Tea. It's honestly so amazing:)

For dinner we ordered take out which I'm technically not supposed to be doing (don't tell my trainer lol), but I went healthy so I thinks it's ok. I got the grilled salmon with asparagus, salad, and baked potato soup.

For dessert I had a Snickers ice cream, which is so weird for me to say as ice cream is so far at the bottom of the list of things I'll eat, I can't even see it lol. But it has been so freaking hot lately and I saw this at walgreens and I felt compelled to buy it.

That is everything I ate today. You can check out the video for this below, and don't forget to leave me a comment telling me what you ate today.

My Hair Story

After a life time of changing hair cuts, colors, and styles, I thought I would take you guys through a little trip down memory lane.

Me with blonde hair as a baby.

I'm the one in the red sweater, you can see my blonde hair starting to turn brown. I was about 10 months in this picture.

I was about 2 years old here and my hair was an reddish-brown.

At four my hair was full on brown.

This was when my hair started to get a bit more ashy, it had less of the auburn highlights.

My perm face lol.

The wet-look!!! Why did we do this?

This was my favorite time in my hair life, I had espresso hair with bangs, and my hair was so healthy, it honestly felt like silk.

Me trying to achieve the ever sought after Zoella Look:)

After about 1 year of letting things be a bit more natural.

This is what I call Anna Saccone meets InTheFrow! I love the hints of brown with the icy bits. In a few weeks it will get a bit more icy as well.

And that is my hair story. You can see the video for this here, which has a bit more info on each phase. I would love to hear your hair story.
