Workout Wednesday

So we have another Workout Wednesday today, this time I made sure to leave enough time in the day to do something other than stretching. I started out by applying my ToeSox because anytime you are doing a mat workout its best to have something to give you some grip, especially when using a Pilates mat which is thicker than a yoga mat so you can sometimes have a little more slipping.
Then I start out by doing a few SIDE LEG LIFTS (not sure what they are actually called, I just make up names for everything lol) I try to line up my shoulder and my hips without allowing twisting in the waist in order to build a strong core. Then I move on to LEG BACKS, this is an exercise you can feel working your butt even though it looks like your pretty much not doing anything. I then drop into a quick CHILDS POSE to release the tension on my back, and quickly move onto DONKEY KICKS, again working the butt here but a bit more consintraded. Again CHILDS POSE....and now we are moving onto LEG SCISSORS, pulsing two times, try to keep your core as tight as possible ( hard for me right now) and you will feel this in your abs. I then did a few LEG ROLLS just to relax my back and then moved onto CYCLING ABS these things hurt like a Mother!!! But thats how you know its working, remember to relax the core and you will increase the benefits of this exercise significantly. I then go into PLANKS, my goal is to be able to do a 5 minute plank by the end of this year, (craycray i know). Remember to drop into CHILDS POSE whenever you need a break. Then I go into AB SCOOPS I call it that because you are literally scooping your body as you do this and can totally feel it throughout your abs as well as your arms and legs.

I hope that by the end of Febuary I will have a higher fitness level for more stanima as well as being able to move on to more advanced exercise.

Until Next Time....

Aloha

Katie

Food Friday

Welcome to Food Friday!!! I will be posting everything I eat and drink on Fridays for the entire year, so lets get started….
For breakfast I went out of my norm and had 2 eggs cooked in a flat omelet pan with a small amount of olive oil, 2 slices of center cut bacon cooked on a rack in the oven, a slice of Oatnut toast, 5 wedges of red grapefruit, and my morning cup of coffee mixed with a small amount of sugar-free Italian Creme coffee creamer.

For lunch I made a 1/2 ham sandwich using Oatnut bread, a small amount of low cholesterol mayo, honey mustard, lettuce, cucumber, off the bone-ham, and provolone cheese. I then added a small side caesar salad using roman hearts, grated parmesan, and costco caesar salad dressing.

I then went for a snack of Honeycrisp apple and skippy natural peanut butter.

For dinner I was going to make fajitas but it seems like to much work (lol) so instead I made sautéed onions and green bell pepper, over Pasta Roni Garlic and Olive Oil Vermicelli, with diced chicken breast cooked in a small amount of olive oil.

Every night around 8-9 pm I have a cup of tea, for tonight I had Lemon Zinger tea from Celestial Seasonings. I made it over ice because it has a very bold lemon taste to it so making it over ice cut the flavor down a bit.

For the whole day I had 3 bottles of SmartWater which is 3 liters.

I hope you guys enjoyed this and until next time….

Katie

Workout Wednesday

So today is Workout Wednesday and I have to say for this being my first day of uploading in this series talk about major fail on my part! I realized last night that I needed to prepare something to upload and yet it was 10:30 pm, my whole day had been thrown after visiting Louis. I figured I had two options, a) say to hell with it and try harder next week or b) put something on film, even if it is in my opinion total crap....so here it is my Hail Mary Workout Wednesday Nighttime Stretching Video. I do hope to do better next week but I am struggling to get the motivation to show up:( I am starting a new daily routine and hopefully having a specified time for the gym will help.
Enjoy the video and until next time....
Aloha

How to Wash Your Hair

So a few months back I received an email from one of my younger subscribers on YouTube asking me for advise on shaving. Growing up I had my mom and 2 older sisters to turn to in times of need and never considered the fact that a lot of young girls do not share in that luxury. This particular subscriber asked for a "How To Shave Your Legs Video" and I gladly delivered. Then a short time after that I received a request from another subscriber on "How To Shave Your Armpits" which I also happily provided. Now that same subscriber who I will call Sally has asked me to provide a video on How To Wash Your Hair.
This seems like such a simple task and yet can get quite confusing for girls as they get older because of the changes we experiance in our bodies. Sally actually has a very similar situation to myself, I have very oily hair (which is funny because my skin is normal to dry), and if I don't wash my hair daily it becomes oily very quickly. I spoke to my amazing hairdresser Jen about this same problem a few years ago and she gave me amazing advise that has stopped any hair damage from over washing as well as saved me money on my shampoo and conditioner.
Jen's advise to me was to apple the shampoo starting at the back of your head working your way up. When you do this you want to avoid adding the shampoo from the neck down as it will dry out the ends, focus on the neck up as well as massaging it into the scalp, but not scrubbing. When you do this make sure you are getting underneath the top layer of hair especially around the cap of the head so you are not just surface cleaning, you are deep cleaning.
After you have shampooed and rinsed your hair you may choose to repeat the process if you have a lot of product build up. If you don't not have a ton of product in I would jump right into conditioner.
When you condition your hair you want to focus on the neck down and really massage the conditioner into your ends. If you have very layered hair like myself you can add a TINY amount of conditioner to those ends but avoid rubbing it into the scalp as this will lead to more oil.Once you have the conditioner in your hair allow it to sit for 3-5 minutes, this is the time that I normally shave my legs. After your 3-5 minutes is up rinse your hair.
When you are ready to dry your hair do not ring your hair in a downward motion, that will cause your hair to break. Instead squeeze and release and then move your hands down squeeze and release and continue down until you have done the length of your hair.
Sally I hope this video helps you and anyone else that has oily hair.
Until next time....
Aloha

Weight loss Channel Update

So as you guys know last year I promised to lose a few extra pounds, but in the end that didn't go well. I went from about 140 lbs last January to 180 lbs this January (oops), So this year as part of my "ME 2014" plan I will be uploading 3 times  a week to my 2BeeHealthy Channel. This is will help keep me accountable as well as maybe inspire a few of you to join me on this journey! So here is the new upload schedule:
Workout Wednesday:
I will upload a complete video of my workout for that day it will not be edited down for a shorter video because I would like you to see exactly what I do as well as have evidence for myself that I can make it through a tough workout I just have to get off the couch.
Food Friday:
will upload a video diary of everything I ate that day including drinks, I will not censor my eating on Fridays so I "look good" I will be 100% honest.
Stat Saturday:
This is the day I will be dreading every week. This video will consist of a before and current picture as well as a video with my current weight, and measurements (Arm, Bust, Waist, Hips, Thigh, and Calf).
I hope you follow me on this horrible (lol) journey and if you are trying to lose weight as well feel free to leave a comment below linking your blog, youtube channel, or we can just have a comment chat on your progress.

Aloha,

Katie

January 11, 2014

Aloha & Welcome to my new blog!!! I have decided to move my blog from my website to here so it makes it easier for all of you to have all your blogs in one place.
So for those of you how don't know me, my name is Katie Snyder, I'm 27 years old, a makeup artist and I live in Honolulu Hawaii with my husband Don and our King Charles Spaniel Charlie.
have decided that 2014 is the year of me, I know that sounds super self-involved but I feel like I spend so much of my time focused on the people around me that I forget to focus on myself, so this year I am setting out to complete a few life goals to better myself.
The first goal I would like to reach is losing weight, I started 2013 wanting to drop a few extra pounds, (I was 140 at the time) and today I am at 180. I don't want to lose weight to be skinny (although that doesn't hurt), I want to lose weight to be healthy I want to be able to start a family soon and teach my children good habits. I also want to be happy with who I am on the inside and out and I feel like I have a lot of work to do on both.
The second goal I want to work on is posting more to my YouTube channel, I really enjoy the creative side of making videos and uploading them, so I would like to get in the habit of posting to my channel on Tuesday and Thursday of every week. Some of the videos will be tutorials and others will be reviews, or TAGS, or just a random video that I think you might enjoy.
My third goal for this year is to become proficient in piano, I have said this every eary for the past 8 years but I am actually going to do it this year. I took piano lessons about 3 years ago and can stumble my way through a few songs so I think with daily practise and maybe more lessons I can hopefully be ready to film a "Katie plays Piano" video by Christmas... hopefully I don't embarrass
                                              myself too much.
So all in all I want to spend this new year bettering myself physically and mentally and maybe end the year a better person for it. I hope you all join me on the journey and until next time...

Aloha

Katie
