My Basic Pilates Reformer Workout

As you guys know I recently received a pilates reformer from my amazing husband for my birthday, so I thought I would show you guys my very basic workout that I'm doing with it. It has been almost a year since my last pilates reformer class and I'm struggling to remember everything I learned so I will need to go back and complete a few more classes to get a good routine going again. Next week I will post about the Tower or power and how I use it but for now here is the video for my most basic workout ever :)

Balanced Body Allegro Tower Of Power Pilates Reformer

Wow thats a mouthful of a title, as you guys know I am a massive Pilates fan, it's one of the few exercise I can do every single day and it not affect my knees, unfortunately the cost of my Pilates Reformer classes were getting a bit out of hand so my very loving husband bought me this baby for my birthday this year and the crazy thing, if I use this everyday (which I know I will) it will have paid for itself by valentines day!!
I chose the Tower of Power because I enjoy doing the additional exercises the Cadillac offers, unfortunately I live in a condo and didn't really have the space for the reformer let alone a full on Cadillac so this was my space issue compromise. I can't wait to start doing some Workout Wednesday videos on this baby for you guys, I did an unboxing of this but it is a little bit long as this came in 3 HUGE boxes and 1 small box so if you would like to give that a gander its here.....

Koren Zander Brush Soap Unboxing, First Impression, & Review

The Koren Brush Soap has soap on one side and a luffa on the other, it makes cleaning your brushes really easy as you swirl on one side and then scrub on the other. It is sulfate free which is good because you want to treat your brushes just like you would your hair. I purchased the Lavender scent which is a bit too strong for my taste, but all in all I don't mind the smell as it truly cleans your brushes and it does it in about half the time.

How to Clean An Ultra Dirty Foundation Brush

We all have those weeks where we just don't want to clean our makeup brushes, but then the next week rolls around and our brushes are so full of product not only are they not applying our makeup correctly, but now we really don't want to wash them. This is a super easy way to remove product build up from those tightly packed foundation brushes like my Zoeva Buffing brush.
Take a little bit of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and tap and swirl your brush into, then using lukewarm water push the oil out of your brush, you will then see a lot of product come out, you can repeat this step if you feel its needed, then wash your brush with whatever soap you like, I used Nexus shampoo because thats what I had, repeat this step 2-3 times until all product has been removed. Then lay flat to dry and your ready to go again. You want to make sure you remove all of the oil because it will make your brush greasy as well as it will not apply your makeup correctly. Pumpkin Spice Muffins With Honey Glaze

Ingredients needed for this recipe:

For the Muffins:
1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter, Melted
2 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Tablespoons Pumpkin Pie Spice
2 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups Bakers Sugar
1 Can (15 ounce) Pure Pumpkin Puree

For The Honey Glaze:
1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter, Very Soft
8 Ounces Cream Cheese, Very Soft
1/4 Cup Raw Honey

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and fill your muffin tin with liners.
Mix FLOUR, BAKING SODA, SALT, and PUMPKIN PIE SPICE. In a separate bowl mix EGGS, SUGAR, BUTTER, and PUMPKIN PUREE.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and combine thoroughly.
Scoop batter into muffin liners and bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, approximately 30-40 minutes.
Cool all muffins on a wire rack.
Mix BUTTER, CREAM CHEESE, and HONEY until smooth.
Glaze the top of each muffin, you can use bakers bag to frost the tops but the honey does make the glaze quite thin so your rosettes may not hold.

Shimmer Eyes & Vamp Lips

Vamp or goth lips are very on trend right now, unfortunately not everyone knows how to wear or apply this bold lip so I thought I would do a full tutorial on this very trendy look showing not only how to wear it, but also how to apply it without it becoming a mess later.

I started off by using Nars Sheer Matte Foundation, I then used the Sei Bella Brow Definition Pencil in Brunette to shape my brows. When doing your brows go ahead and go for a bold brow to help define your face since we are going for soft eyes.
I then used MAC Vanilla all over my lids, from the lash line going all the way to my brow, I followed this up with MAC All That Glitters, this went from the lash line into the crease, followed by MAC Cork, this was used in the crease to blend the All That Glitters and Vanilla and provide definition of the eye. I then used MAC Smut to line my upper and lower lash line, followed by L'Oreal Voluminous Smouldering Eyeliner, and finished the eyes with L'Oreal Teloscopic Mascara.
I applied Mac Pink Cult Blush to the apple of my cheeks, sweeping up to my temples, then I did some light contouring with the Maybelline Master Hi-Light in Light Bronze, using this in the hollows of my cheeks, my temples, my forehead, and my nose. Then using NYX Lip Liner in Currant, I lined my lips an then completely filled them in. I then used the NYX Matte Lipgloss in the color Copenhagen, I went over my lips several times to darken the color as well as used the tip of the gloss brush to get as close to my lip line as possible. I then used the NYX HD Photo Concealer and lined along the outer edge of my lips to keep my lip color from feathering throughout the day.

Marbled Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

These cheesecake bars are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, I have made this a couple of times at the request of my neighbors, they are quite rich though so feel free to cut the sugar amount in half if you want a little less sweet cheesecake.
Ingredients:

For the Crust:
20 Oreos (twist them open and remove the cream, using a butter knife to scrape it off works well)
2 Tablespoons of Super Fine Bakers Sugar
4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter Melted

For the Filling:
16 Ounces of Cream Cheese
1 Cup Super Fine Bakers Sugar
15 Ounces of Solid Pack Pumpkin Puree (pure pumpkin, not the pumpkin pie mix)
3 Eggs
3 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Pumpkin-Pie Spice
1/2 Teaspoon salt
4 Ounces Semi-Sweet Bakers Chocolate (chopped or broken into easy to melt pieces)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then line the bottom of a brownie pan with tin foil, leaving an overhand on each side so it's easy to life the bars out.

In your food processor, add the 20 Oreos, and the 2 tablespoons of sugar, blend until fine, while that is going melt your butter, when the Oreo sugar mixture is done add in the melted butter and blend again.

Pour the mixture into your tinfoil lined pan, and firmly press the mixture into the bottom of the pan, place in the oven for 15 minutes then allow to cool.

Place cream cheese in the food processor and blend until smooth, add in sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs, flour, pumpkin-pie spice, and salt, blend until completely combined.

Place the chopped chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and melt in 30 second increments, add 1 cup of the pumpkin cream cheese mixture to the chocolate and stir thoroughly.

Pour the remaining pumpkin cream cheese mixture over the Oreo crust and smooth out.

Then take a spoonful of the chocolate mixture and drop into the pumpkin cheese cake mixture randomly, using the end of your spoon or a cake pop stick swirl the chocolate dollops into the mixture to create the marbled effect.

Bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until cheesecake is set but still jiggles slightly.

Cool in the pan, then cover and chill until firm (minimum of 3 hours).

Using the overhang of the tin foil lift the bars out of the pan, cut into 16 squares.

Tag me in your photos and use #KatieBeeBaking so I can see all of your wonderful treats!!

Miss Spa Foot Booties First Impression/Review

With the summer coming to a very hot end, I am currently living in sandals, unfortunately this means my feet need to be in tip-top shape all the time. I ran across this bootie set at Walgreens and thought I would give it a go to see if I could avoid the cost of a full on pedicure, this was $5.99 and pretty self explanatory, you open the package put 1 bootie on per foot, allow to set for 20 minutes, remove the bootie and your good to go.
The booties are made out of a vynil material and the cream is already placed in the bottom of the bootie, it feels pretty gross when you put your foot in but its just the cold, gushy feeling nothing actually wrong with the product. I did have a lot of trouble using the self-adhesive seal as the paper was extremely difficult to remove.
Unfortunately I didn't see a massive improvement, while my feet felt softer, it was the same kind of softness like you had just moisturized your feet, no other improvement. After using this product I actually wished I would have saved the $6 and applied to a proper pedicure which is only $35 here.
