Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Palette Review


Today is the Launch of the new collaboration between Jaclyn Hill (Youtube's Resident Highlight Queen) and Becca Cosmetics with Sephora. I was one of the few lucky ones to get my hands on this baby early, and I have to say I am so in love, so in love that I am ready to divorce Don, abandon my fur babies, and run away with the very gorgeous Amaretto, and lets be honest he's a beautiful Italian with just a hint of shimmer ;) Or maybe that's just my fantasy lol. 

All kidding aside, this face palette has set a new standard for the cosmetics industry, not only is the color payoff ***INCREDIBLE*** but the actual product itself goes on so smoothly and lasts through the entire day, without that grey tint creeping into your highlight like an ex-boyfriend who "forgot" you always shop at Whole Foods on a Thursday!

Another huge bonus with this palette and something so different for the cosmetics industry is the fact that you actually get a full sized product in the palette, most companies give smaller sized products in their palettes and then up the price because it's a "palette", well not Jaclyn Hill she made sure we all got full sized products, in a palette, with a very generously sized mirror all for price of $52.00, thats a $130.00 value!

If I had to point to a negative about this palette I would say the packaging gets my fingerprints on it and the product is so pigmented I have to learn to use a feather light touch...that is seriously the only thing I was able to come up with after using this palette everyday since I got it.

I am so excited for the rest of the collection to arrive on my doorstep, I'm literally stocking my UPS guy, and I think he kinda digs it lol.

My After Workout Smoothie

Recently I have been incorporating an after workout smoothie into my daily routine, not only is it filled with lots of vitamins and everything my body needs to repair itself, but it tastes so good, and is the perfect snack after working out.

In my smoothie I use:

Frozen Strawberries
Harmless Harvest Coconut Water
Almond Milk

I add all the ingredients to my Ninja Pro blender and pulse blend for a good 60-90 seconds, then enjoy!

Origins Choral Mask First Impression


Today I tried the Origins Choral Mask for the first time, I was pretty hesitant on buying this as it is getting so much hype within the "beauty community" that I was nervous it was just one more "bandwagon" item.

I applied this just as the directions said, place a warm cloth on your face, then remove and apply the mask. I applied it with a flat foundation brush, because I like how much cleaner it is doing it that way, then I let it sit until completely dry.

It took my mask about 20 minutes to dry, but as usual that has a lot to do with my living in such a warm humid area. For those of you who sadly don't live on a tropical island (lol) it probably would take about 10 minutes.

After it was fully dry I wiped it away using another warm washcloth, and I have to say, I loved the way my skin looked and felt after, not only does my nose (my usual blackhead area), look 100% clear but my forehead (my usual dull and flakey area), looks clean and alive....

I don't want to jump the gun here and tell everyone to run out and buy it, but my first impression of this is, it deserves the hype it's getting.
I will continue to use this for a few more weeks and then get back to you all with a full review.....

Kylie Lip Kit Unboxing/Swatch

I was so lucky to be able to actually place an order for the Kylie Lip Kits, I ordered Koko K for myself and Candy K for my sister, who said I could swatch hers before sending it off, so lets get this box open!

This is the box it came in, I did whiteout my address, but I didn't realize you couldn't see the drips on it :(



Once opened there is the card from Kylie, I didn't know this at the time, but apparently these are not given to everyone, it's just a random kind of thing, so I was lucky enough to get one!
Also there are two double layers of foam, this not only helps keep your lip kits in place so nothing gets damaged, but they will help to keep the box cooler in flight, because the liner is quite soft so I could see it melting in hot areas.


The left one is Candy K and the right is Koko K, Candy K is just slightly darker than Koko K.


This is Candy K, also it should be mentioned this is after it's dried.


This is Koko K, and this was when it was partially dry you can see the right edge of it is still a tiny bit glossy.

Clarisonic Smart Profile First Impression


I recently received the Clarisonic Smart Profile and I really wanted to do a first impression with this so lets jump in....


The first slightly annoying but maybe not so bad thing is the amount of time it takes to charge, it literally took 24 hrs to come to a complete charge, which seems excessive, but I have read a few reviews that say they only charge it 1 time monthly, so when you think about it in that way, it's not so bad.


My kit came with a cleanser but I used my Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, and though I did struggle to actually get this thing turned on how I wanted it, now that I know how to use it, I know this is going to be a winner.
After using it one time my skin feels so soft and smooth, I made sure to use it right along my hairline as thats where I get really dry and usually where my foundation gets really cakey, and my hairline looks so amazing right now lol.

All in all I love it, I hate their directions I feel like they are really lacking in information about cleaning your brush after use, as well as they say hold it for 3 seconds, but it doesn't actually work until about 5 seconds, so there is that, but I'm still very happy with it. I would also like to point out, it says to use it two times daily, I feel like that might be a bit excessive, there is a thing called over exfoliating, and I most defiantly don't want to do that, so I will use it only in the evenings.

My After Gym Hygiene Routine


Today I thought I would take you through My After Gym Hygiene Routine, I wanted to share this with you because I have recently had to make a few changes to this routine and wanted to share my experience with you.

So the first thing I do when I get home is take off my watch, I have a little tube of disinfectant wipes that I wipe the band with, and place it on the charger.

Then I of course remove my disgusting workout clothing and hop in the shower.

When I'm in the shower the first thing I do is wash my hair, this is the thing I had to change, I noticed along the first 1-2 inches of my hair I was having a breakout, it made sense to think it was from workout and then not washing my hair, so I have started washing it daily. Due to the excessive washing I am using the Nexxus Oil Infinite system, it really helps keep my hair moisturized.

Then I use the Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash on a loofa from The Body Shop.

Followed by the conditioner for the Nexxus system, this I leave in until the last step.

While my hair is absorbing all that oil goodness I use the Bath and Body Works White Sand Exfoliant on my whole body, this is something I do 2-3 times a week, and it makes my skin so soft and smooth, I love it.

Then comes the slightly embarrassing part, I have body acne, I get it on my back, legs, and sometimes even my bum, so I use the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control, this stuff is very drying, but it also works like crazy, so I use this on my back, legs, and bum area, and let it sit for a minute.

Then I massage the Rodan+Fields Reverse Exfoliating Wash into my facial skin, as this sits for a minute or two, I rinse my hair and body, then I turn the shower to a very lukewarm temperature and rinse my face, making sure to pay close attention to my hairline.

Due to the recent change, I have noticed a huge difference in my hair line, all the breakouts are gone, and my hair is getting plenty of moisture from the conditioner. I then go about my normal day to day routine, like skincare, makeup, getting dressed, etc.

How to Over Line Your Lips


For any of my thin lipped sisters out there, I thought I would show you how I over line my lips, this is something I do on almost a daily basis and literally takes about 5 minutes.

The first thing you want to do is prime your lips with your foundation brush (mine is the Tarte Airbrush), this will help your lip products stay in place all day.

Then using MAC Lip Liner in Have To Have It, start on your bottom lip just under wear your normal lip ends, moving towards the corners, make sure that you line on the inside of your lip as well so that no matter what it all looks like your actual lip. Then switch to your top lip, starting at your cupids bow raise the peeks up slightly and run towards the outside of your lips. Remember, don't fill in your cupids bow, that is a sure sign that you have over drawn your lips.

Then using Dose Of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in Bare With Me, glide it all over your lips, as well as covering the lip liner, it will create a more cohesive look.

You can leave the look there or to create an even fuller look, using Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Rule Breaker, glide it over the top, this will help create a fuller look, because the gloss is shiny which tricks the eye into thinking your lips are fuller.

How I Get Motivated For The Gym


Today's Workout Wednesday is more of a sit down chat, I wanted to talk to you guys about how I was able to get out of that "I Don't Want To Go To The Gym" funk, and got into the "I Love The Gym" vibe!

If I was going to point to one thing that helped my boost in workouts it would be joining a gym, my condo has a gym but it's hot in there, there isn't enough gym equipment, and it's an extremely small space, if there is more than 2 people it's over crowded. 

The next thing was after a month of hardcore workouts, I invested in some high quality gym clothes, (which I shared with you guys in my 2 Victoria Secret Pink Hauls). By purchasing really cute but functional clothing it helped give me a bit of a confidence boost walking into the gym.

Then I started watching The Walking Dead, I allow myself 1 episode a day, and I have to be at the gym to watch it. This has been huge for me, I was able to go from counting the seconds on the elliptical to not wanting to get off.

I would also say the Apple Watch (it was a gift from my husband), has been huge in motivating me. I am able to track my workouts, my calories, my steps, and a multitude of other things. With this watch I can tell you how my workout in the gym was today, yesterday, a week ago, a month ago, 5 months ago...it's pretty amazing to be able to look back and see the progress I've made.

In the end getting motivated to go is really about creating an inviting space that you want to walk into, if it's a place you dread it will always be an uphill battle, but by creating a space you want to go to everyday, you'll reach your goals in no time.

My Meals Monday | Hiking


I hiked Makapu'u trail today, it was so cloudy, and rainy, and windy, and a lot harder than I thought it would be, and then I reached the top and it was all 100% worth it!


I was absolutely starving after the hike, so I made a really nice breakfast as a reward for completing it. I had three 5 minute eggs, with pesto, and a croissant. I also had a watermelon water to help replenish my system, this is seriously good, you should try it!


For lunch I made a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich using a croissant, I am trying to use these up because I bought them at Costco and there was like 20 in the pack!


For a little snack I had Whisps, they are literally parmesan cheese backed into little chips, there is nothing else in these. It's a great snack and it's kind of rich so you don't end up eating too many.


I was kinda hungry/kinda not when dinner time rolled around, so I had a couple BBQ Chicken Wings, and called it good.


For dessert I had my usual teapigs peppermint and licorice, and then I had a couple nature valley protein balls, they are so good, a tiny bit dry but not bad!

Stat Saturday


It has been a VERY long time since I have done a Stat Saturday post, I have no excuse for not doing them other than I wasn't losing any weight, and I felt really down on myself, but I have really committed to going to the gym and eating a bit healthier and just all around enjoying life more, so there will be more of these to follow.
